The “iPhone 7” and the “iPhone 7 Plus” are the new flagship smartphones by Apple and they are already generating a lot of waves, both good and bad. Even before the gadgets came out, analysts have been making worrisome predictions, many of which came true. Now, it seems the newest iPhones are not exactly living up to the hype, with only minimal advantages over the previous version and making hissing noises to boot.
Apple has a habit of changing the way people think about amenities, Tech Times notes, by building its business on giving customers something they never thought they would need but can no longer live without. However, it seems that its latest smartphone offering comes with more than a few issues.
For one thing, test footage pitting the “iPhone 6 Plus” against the “iPhone 7” shows that the newer model outshines the older one in only a few areas and barely at that. This is despite the 64-bit, quad-core A10 Fusion processor chip that it’s equipped with.
The “iPhone 6 Plus” boots up faster by 8 seconds compared to the “iPhone 7” for example, and it is also quicker at opening certain apps, although only by a small margin. For a smartphone that’s one generation above its counterpart, one would think that the “iPhone 7” would outclass the “iPhone 6 Plus” by a mile.
Then there’s the matter of the hissing noise that the smartphone makes as documented by Stephen Hackett, which he then posted on 512pixels. After fiddling with the iCloud, it would seem that his “iPhone 7” started emitting a sound like a snake, which appeared to be coming from the device’s processor.
Hackett wasn’t the only one who had this problem as many on Twitter have been reporting the same issues. Apple has made no comments about the issue, which is bound to aggravate customers further.
